As an optometrist you are likely already familiar with Vision Therapy and its powerful effects on vision and benefits for children with learning difficulties due to visual processing problems. But what you may not know is that by combining syntonics with vision therapy, visual performance can be improved in weeks, rather than months, as is typical with traditional vision therapy. Geoff Shayler presents this Fast Track VT. The other pre-conference workshop is an Introduction to Iridology and Applications for VT by Peter Guhl and Bill Caradonna. The iris and iridology have some interesting properties that interface with what we do in syntonics. In this workshop you will learn some ways that you can look at the iris and analyze some of the information it offers to better understand and treat your patients.

Description:

Track I: Fast Track VT
It is has been estimated that 1 in 4 children have learning difficulties associated with visual processing problems such as Convergence Insufficiency. Typically “home” vision therapy takes 6 – 12 months, but why take so long! By combining syntonics with vision therapy, visual performance can improve substantially in under 3 weeks. Geoff’s presentation uses models to allow delegates to better understand the neurology of the visual process, why the visual field collapses and its effect on all areas of Skeffington’s circles.

Delegates can then use this knowledge to integrate syntonics into their vision therapy programs to create speedy changes for their patients. Geoff will include some of his research into motion coherence threshold testing, and how this shows normalisation of brain function after VT, (which he presented at ICBO)

Track II: Intro to Iridology and applications for VT
The field of iridology is another alternative/complimentary medicine. This workshop will provide an overview of this modality; its history, its studies and some of the variations on how it is used. The iris and iridology have some interesting properties that interface with what we do in syntonics. Learn some ways that you can look at the iris and analyze some of the information it offers to better understand and treat your patients. This workshop is offered by the founder of the International Iridology Practitioners Association, Dr. Bill Caraonna, and syntonic optometrist Dr. Peter Guhl.
